One of the best things about boating in the Pacific Northwest is enjoying each season. Fall cruising offers spectacular weather and scenery. The foliage is vibrant, the mornings are crisp and the sunsets are spectacular! For the most part the weather in September & October is calm and the currents are normal, compared to the extremes we typically experience in the Summer.

There are many public marinas within an hour’s boat drive from Seattle, including Edmonds, Poulsbo, Kingston, Gig Harbor and Tacoma. As summer comes to an end, many private marinas offer transient overnight slips as their tenants move out. That is a great way to check out a marina you are interested in mooring your boat.

Last year, we cruised all the way into December and experienced some of the best cruising of the year. Just because summer is over, doesn’t mean boating season has ended. Plus, marinas and anchorages are less crowded in the off season, giving you more privacy and room.

This is also a great time to look at buying a boat. If you have questions or are curious about boating, come in and talk with us. We’re happy to show you around.

When you are done with cruising this year, be sure to call us to get your boat winterized before the first freeze arrives! 877-732-7296
