Entry to her luxurious interior is largely via the aft sliding door. There is a comfortable, spacious feeling to this area. When folded out, the salon table is capable of dining up to eight people. Or you can make it smaller for use as a cocktail or smaller game table. At night, the sofa can convert to a double berth for two. The galley is larger than most vessels of this size and bigger, perfect for someone who loves to cook. The Karadon countertops shine beautifully against the cherry wood cabinetry and teak and holly flooring. This kitchen has everything you need to create a great meal, including a three-burner Princess stove with oven, an apartment-size Norcold refrigerator with separate freezer, ice maker, mounted microwave, a double stainless sink and a trash compactor. Plenty of counter space and oodles of storage space will delight any cook. Across from the galley is a nice wet bar with more counter space. There are cabinets and cupboards all over this room; the available space has been used very well. For privacy at night, let down the venetian blinds. A few steps up from the galley takes you right into the interior pilot house. This is very much like another salon with plenty more of the luxury type seating and smaller cherry table circling the plush adjustable, raised captain s chair with foot rest. A sliding door on both port and starboard take you to the side deck. Open them up and let in a nice swirl of sea air. The view from this navigation center is outstanding and the rounded helm is expansive and has all the electronics a proper captain needs for navigation. Four windshield wipers keep visibility clear in inclement weather. Below decks, sleeping accommodations for six await. The master suite located in the bow has a comfortable queen bed and lots of nice storage, including two hanging lockers. The en suite head has a Vacuflush toilet, a sink, and a large shower/tub combo with a nice-sized tub. Next to the master suite is a port side cabin with a twin-size bunk beds. The upper bunk lowers to make a sofa. Or use this cabin for extending the Master stateroom. Aft from this cabin is a guest cabin with a double bed and lots of draws and a hanging locker. Across the hallway is the second well-equipped head with an additional shower. For the boater who wants all the creature comforts of home, the 490 is a great choice.
One of the many notable features of BO-J IV is her covered back deck, perfect if you re going to be cruising the inside passage or the San Juan Islands. Come aboard BO-J IV via her large swim deck and a starboard side aft transom door. There is plenty of room for fishing from this deck, but it also makes a great place to lounge in a couple of deck chairs. She comes with a set of four Cannon down riggers. Up a short angled ladder is the exterior way to get to the fly bridge. Having two real helms is quite an asset of this vessel model. A bimini cover provides shade and shelter or you can tuck it away and soak up some sun rays. This area has plenty of room for guests and the helm offers great visibility with its own array of electronics close at hand. The deck cover doubles as a storage location for the Avon inflatable hard-bottom dinghy with 25 horsepower Yamaha kicker with hydraulic steering. An electric crane loads and unloads the dinghy when you want to use it. There's also a new Haier 9.2 cu ft chest freezer located on this deck.
BO-J IV is powered by two reliable 2006 Cummins 370 horsepower diesel engines, each with a low 1,500 hours on it. She cruises at 15 knots and tops out at a brisk 22 knots not bad for a vessel of this size. She carries a generous 444 gallons of fuel. This first-class yacht deftly manages temperamental waterways and provides the responsive handling inclement weather requires. Her Bennett trim tabs will keep your cruise nicely leveled out. When anchoring at sea, lower and raise her plow anchor with her Muir Cougar 1200 electric winch. Docking is super easily done with her electric side power bow thrusters.
The two full helms on BO-J IV are both fully equipped with everything a captain needs. The main helm comes with an integrated system build around a Raymarine E120, including the GPS, plotter, radar and depth sounder. For communications, you ve got a ICOM MC 422 VHF. The fly bridge comes with an integrated system built on the Raymarine E80 GPS, plotter, radar and depth sounder. An ICOM 412 VHF is available for communications. You can also set the Raymarine ST 8001 w auto pilot if you'd like to move about the vessel. She's got newer batteries (2014) and her Onan 13.5 kw genset was new in 2013. She hooks in to 30 or 50 amp shore power and has a Xantrex battery charger and inverter. When you re ready for a little rock and roll, kick on the JBL AM/FM CD satellite-ready stereo with JBL speakers and get your toes tappin'.
